Copic 104: Properties of Light and Shadow
with Lisa Hetrick - the only Intermediate Level Copic Certified person in Maryland
Want to take your color work to the next level?
In this advanced class, you will learn how to color more realistically. We will spend the entire class working through and planning your light source.
Prepared to be challenged as we discuss and practice how to get beyond the diffused world of light and learn the properties of light and shadow.
- You will create a "light study" and focus practice using a linear light source (the sun) coloring and image with highlight and shadow.
- Linear (sun), Radial (candle) and Single point (spotlight) clear guides will be provided in class as a tool for the "light study."
- We will cover Radial and Single point light, but you will only color using the Linear guide.
Please be sure to bring colors that can be used as highlight, midtone and shadow. We will be breaking the "natural blending family" rule when selecting color.
Highlight Copic colors end in 0-3
Midtone Copic colors end in 4-6
Shadow Copic colors end in 7-9
Here is an example of the light and shadow coloring technique that will be covered in class. Students will NOT be coloring this image. This is an example ONLY. Fee $25

Each kit includes papers from Basic Grey lines. You will receive patterned papers, along with coordinating embellishments. You can personalize your monthly layouts to fit your own themes as well. You'll receive full packages of embellishments used in class. You'll have plenty of product left to make more layouts or cards at home. In this class you will learn to follow a scrapbook layout sketch. Use the sketch in class, then you change the papers and use it over and over to produce eye catching layouts. Please bring a basic tool kit including adhesive. Fee $20

Gearing up for Demo Day and new Punch Bunch & My Cute Stamps!
Hi Everyone,
Wacky Wednesday Cards
This week, we have two new cards using the lovely Hero Arts stamps. We will also have out last weeks cards in case you missed them. Just $2 each, available thru Friday.
We received a great new tool from the Punch Bunch for all you punch fans. This handle makes using the most difficult punches so much easier.
We checked in our first new stamp order from My Cute Stamps! We have the catalog at the front counter and we will be taking special orders for the stamps we missed or run out of.
We are trying a bunch of the new Tombow adhesives. Their newest runner works much more smoothly than the old ones and has two ways for the tape to come out. We have one at the front counter for you to try.
We created 5 new Creative Cafe Layouts for you. They are on the front table next to the Creative Cafe Wall. Just $3 each.
New Demo Day samples.
Laura will be making this on Demo Day.
Lisa Hetrick will be stamping and painting with Twinkling H2Os.
Kat Blue will be having you make some springy flowers on her Demo Day Layout.
Ami will be breaking out the Twinkling H2O's for her Easter Card.
