 Special Announcement

15 years ago, I heard that the Second Floor Scrapbook Store was up for sale and Recollections was closing. After talking to my good friend Kim, I started the process of buying the store and Photo Scraps was opened December of 2007. I dreamed of a place that scrappers and card makers could gather to learn, to create and have crafty time together. Many friendships were formed over the years and there was so much laughter and fun.

A lot of things have happened in the last 15 years. You have watched my kids grow from children into adults. We moved the store twice and still have LOTS of great products. This hasn’t been an easy journey. It’s been a rough couple of years personally and professionally. Covid was a giant curveball and we survived due to all of our wonderful customers. It has been an amazing 14 1/2 years meeting so many talented scrapbookers and card makers.

My employees over the years have added so much to this whole experience with their creativity and friendship. Lisa Castaneda was an integral part of the store for about 17 years and was sorely missed when she went to work for the school system. Gina Adolph and Gina Painter were talented ladies that worked in the evenings up until Covid hit. Claire, while only working for me for only a short time made a big impact and we were all sad to see her move. Michele Sadler and Traci Wheatley have been great additions to the store. Lisa Halstead has been working for the store ever since it opened in the original location over 21 years ago. She started out as a scrapper but has turned into the most amazing card maker and has inspired us all with her samples, Make & Takes and Demos. I know that is not even close to everyone that has worked for me over the years or has done demos. I appreciate every one of you and without all your contributions, the store would not have been the same. It's comforting knowing that we had an impact on the crafting community and have inspired many creative women.

It's time for a new beginning. I have made the difficult decision to close the physical store but I will still be making custom papers to sell online and at crops & conventions. So while you won't be able to shop at the store in Eldersburg, you will still see me at events and can shop with me 24/7 online. I also plan on doing Facebook live classes. In the future, I look forward to being able to focus my time on designing new custom papers, having Facebook classes and creating new mini albums and card classes. I will also be vending some local crops and will be having booths at the conventions next year.

Thank you for your patronage. Thank you for the laughter and the tears. Thank you for the friendships, old and new. Thank you for teaching me new techniques. Thank you for keeping us around for 14 1/2 years. I hope to get the chance to see many of you before we close the physical store.
