Update from Kirstin Beck - The HOPE Project

Hey Photo Scraps friends! As some of you are aware of, I had a shelf in the old scrapbooking store where I fundraised money for charity, where many of YOU helped by donating supplies and purchasing supplies—THANK YOU. When we moved into our new space in July, there was no longer any more space for my shelf. That’s when God started placing it on my heart to take my fundraiser to the next level, into a 501©3 nonprofit organization. I was scared. But I could not deny that this was what God was calling me to do. So I obeyed.
HOPE Project is a fund under the Community Foundation of Carroll County, meaning we are officially a nonprofit. Our mission is to bring back dignity to those in poverty. We are trying to do this by partnering with local shelters to provide a monthly meal. Instead of a buffet line style service, we will provide a fancy restaurant type of service. The room will be decorated in an elegant manner. Names of individual homeless people will be called and they will be escorted to their beautifully-clothed tables with china and silverware on them. They will have a menu to choose from and waiters who will take an interest in knowing their name.  While waiting for their meal, they will get to listen to live entertainment from local bands. They will be treated as royalty; they will be treated like a human.

Right now, we are focusing on finding people who are willing to help us with their skills, through social media, funds, or items. If you’re interested in helping make HOPE Project happen (we really need someone good at making a budget, and someone with restaurant experienceclick here. A HUGE help is to like us on Facebook by clicking here, INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! If you want to help us by donating you can do so by providing cash or a check written out to the Carroll Community Foundation and in the memo write HOPE Project and give it to cashier at PhotoScraps. Lastly, if any of you have any oral hygiene products, silverware, interior decoration, glasses, anything that is needed in a fancy restaurant and would want to donate it—we need it! Everything you donate is tax-deductibles too J I’m so excited for this awesome opportunity and I thank you guys for being a part of my journey! I look forward to keeping you updated.J -Kirstin
