Friday morning, we woke up bright and early because we went to a new product review at 8:00 am. We got a few good gifts and then moved on to our first classes. I took a great class with Cat's Pajamas. They came out with 3 new adorable Christmas sets that I'll be ordering. Here is the owner of the Cat's Pajamas showing us how to make a count down to Christmas magnetic muffin tin calendar. Class coming soon!
My next class was with the Paper Cut and Impression Obsession. I flew thru 12 Christmas cards. I made some pretty cards that we may have to Demo.
Here is Lisa finishing up a great layout using one of their new lines not available yet in stores, Love Bandit. I guess I'll be ordering some Bo Bunny. Lisa has good Bo Bunny stories which I'll make her type to you later.
We went shopping in our gift shop in the lobby. When in Texas...
Tomorrow, I have a date with Tim Holtz. Well, I do have to share him with the rest of the class.
Day 2
Lisa and I had a very busy day stamping and scrapping. We started out at 8:30. Fortunately, the coffee was flowing freely with a side of sugar to give us energy. I had another great class with the ladies of Hero Arts. I made some beautiful Christmas cards that will be showing up in a class.
These girls have fun like Lisa and I do. They went to Abacrombi yesterday shopping and wouldn't settle for the bag with the ugly guy on it. They made the salesperson give them the bag with the hunk. Back in their hotel room, they sat the bag down on the dresser so they could look at him. His eyes were like great art and followed them around the room. True Story. They brought the bag to class and set it up under the slide screen so we all could enjoy him and his eyes.
We felt the need to escape the hotel and get real Mexican food. Lisa Halstead's husband recomended this restaurant and it was good. Loved the chips and salsa and my fajita salad.
The only problem was that the food was freshly made and Lisa didn't think it would be so hot. Little burned tongue and she developed a lisp.
After lunch, I had a class with Tim Holtz. He was playing with sticky backed canvas and Claudine Helmuth's paint. He gave some great advice and said that we should always use our assets when crafting. If something needs to be dried or flattened, we should use the Bun Oven. Another words, sit on it. Yes, he really gave this advice in class.
Lisa and I both got to take a great Bazzill class using their Lickety Splits albums and protectors. These pages would also work great with the We R memory Keepers albums and page protectors. We can't wait to complete an album and have a class.
This mini Christmas Album class was so good. It made me really fall in love with this paper line.
Here is Tim Holtz in action mixing UTEE for me. Ok, he did this for everyone while doing his make and take.
Tomorrow, We SHOP!
Day 3
Boy were we tired this morning. It was a struggle to get out of bed to go to a business class at 8:30. Luckily, it was a good class. At 9:30, shopping began in a fury. We started with some great new clear sets from The Cat's Pajamas. They had 3 new Christmas sets and even a nice Hanukkah set. Their cards are so cute!
Little Yellow Bicycle sent their national sales manager to show their new lines. They vowed never to do glossy paper again. Their Valenines line is to die for!
We went a little crazy with the new Bo Bunny lines. They are so pretty in person. They will be shipping in about 2 weeks.
We did not order the Wham It for our store but we had to pose with it since it was so crazy for a scrapbook convention.
We had a good time with Jennifer McGuire ordering Hero Arts. The new clings are wonderful and cover the entire front of a card. Jennifer and Shari were keeping a close eye on the Abercrombe guy. No one else had a chance.
Most of the goodies we ordered will be hitting the store in the next two to three weeks. You know I'll send emails with photos. Tomorrow, we have our last class with Creative Imaginations. It is a 6 hour class with lots of projects. Then, we fly home. Boo Hoo. These things always go so fast.
