**** New Copic Class Announcement ***
Thursday March 31st   6-8 PM
Copic 104: Properties of Light and Shadow
with Lisa Hetrick - the only Intermediate Level Copic Certified person in Maryland
Want to take your color work to the next level?
In this advanced class, you will learn how to color more realistically. We will spend the entire class working through and planning your light source.

Prepared to be challenged as we discuss and practice how to get beyond the diffused world of light and learn the properties of light and shadow.
  1. You will create a "light study" and focus practice using a linear light source (the sun) coloring and image with highlight and shadow.
  2. Linear (sun), Radial (candle) and Single point (spotlight) clear guides will be provided in class as a tool for the "light study."
  3. We will cover Radial and Single point light, but you will only color using the Linear guide.
Students must bring their own markers. Markers will not be provided. A Shadow Color chart will be posted on the PhotoScraps website by March 1st (this is very important).

Please be sure to bring colors that can be used as highlight, midtone and shadow. We will be breaking the "natural blending family" rule when selecting color.

Highlight Copic colors end in 0-3
Midtone Copic colors end in 4-6
Shadow Copic colors end in 7-9

Here is an example of the light and shadow coloring technique that will be covered in class. Students will NOT be coloring this image.  This is an example ONLY.    Fee $25
